Speaking of racks... May. 19th, 2004 @ 08:17 pm
I've got up to 15 Homaco black powdercoated aluminum 4-post racks for sale.

Racks are adjustable in depth up to about 24", and can optionally include similarly adjustable shelves.

These were recovered from a demolition job when a large telecom company vacated a whole bunch of office space (yay layoffs!)

I'm willing to let them go cheap. I'll post pictures as soon as I get one put together and a picture taken.

any takers?

Im new here, and i have a Q. May. 19th, 2004 @ 04:18 pm
I was brought to the attention of this COmm. when manuka showed his rack in the geeks comm....so i joined last night cuz this looked like another fun place to watch..
Anyway, I have obtained a 3Com SuperStack || Desktop Switch (24 port) (10 base T) and was wondering what i could possibly get for it as i have no current use for it...its still in the box with mounting HW and manual....i've used it maybe 3 times to figure out how it works..and it works, which is good to know....i may not consider selling it, just curious, because i've found this on ebay, and it would be quite dissapointing to be selling this for like 80 bucks....

Been fondling my rack all evening... Got some new shelves for it, reorged my toys:

Anyone got a spare UPS? The little 600 is probably getting close to capacity.

Hey all.
I'm about to have a 300W 1U power supply available, I have to go to a 400W for all the stuff I have crammed in my chassis.

Anyone willing to buy this one? It works fine, is fairly quiet, and has only been turned on a handful of times.
They go for around $50 plus [insert ridiculous shipping costs here] on ebay, so I figure $50 plus actual shipping is fair.

let me know, post a comment or e-mail me.
don't make me sell it on fleabay. please.

I was looking around LJ and ran across this community and thought maybe someone on here might be interested in this rack mount cabinet. It's a 13U black rack mount cabinet with an internal depth of 20in.

For pictures visit this links:

I'm asking $250 for this cabinet. There are a few very minor dings that you can't really see, but nothing to be concerned about.

I also have 3- 20" sliding rails that I got for this cabinet that I can sell with this cabinet for another $150. These rails are brand new and have never been used.

The cases that I have are too deep for this cabinet and I need to sell off what I have so I can get the money to get the rack that I need.

If any of you are interested or would like more information just respond to this post

I'm the proud new owner of a shiny... er, matte black 1U chassis with 300w PS.
I'm just hoping that my spare mobo will fit in there so as to save me the cost of a new mobo as well.
Got sick and tired of paying for hosting, so I'm taking matters into my own hands. Hoping to pick some brains around here about hardware setup if yer all cool with that.
Any OS recomendations for a colo server? I'm experienced with linux (mostly redhat) and freebsd. I lean towards freebsd for security, but redhat for larger support/experience base when shit hits fan, as I'm no guru.

» you want to have sex with me, right?
it's not exactly appropriate for this community, but i thought you kids might be entertained by this anyhow.

ps. i run a lot of linux at my house, & i am the cunted gender. ph34r!#
» Probably a stupid question(s) but....
I've never run a server before, but will most likely be doing so soon. It'll be a simple PC made over. Where can I go to for a simple beginner's How To: and what would be the best OS to run on it?
